ATHENS, Ga. — The University of Georgia Bulldogs have earned a major recruiting victory in the Class of 2026, securing a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko. The Garner (N.C.) South Garner standout made his decision official Wednesday, choosing Georgia over Clemson, Florida, and Notre Dame. At 6‑foot‑6 and roughly 310 pounds, Ogboko brings prototypical size, athleticism and high-end technique to an already staked offensive line cla
Ogboko cited Georgia’s holistic approach—both in program culture and long-term player development—as the key to his decision.
> “It was about the school and the overall program at Georgia. How they do things, my trust in them and the vibe made Georgia the right school for me,” he told On3. “I believe Georgia can get me where I want to be. They work. They compete. My trust in Georgia is different.”
He noted that while having his older brother, defensive lineman Nnamdi Ogboko (Class of 2024), on the roster is a welcome bonus, this move is driven by his own aspirations.
Having my brother there is nice, but […] this decision was about me. Georgia can help me in my development […] I will go against top defensive linemen every day in practice and get better. Georgia prepares guys for the NFL and that is where I want to go.”
