The rock world continues to mourn the death of Ozzy Osbourne , one of the most iconic and influential figures in music history. The British artist passed away on July 22 at the age of 76 , and until now, the cause of his death had not been officially confirmed. However, new documents released in London shed light on the medical circumstances surrounding his death
According to information released by The New York Times , which obtained the singer’s death certificate, Osbourne died of cardiac arrest outside of a hospital . The document details that the death was caused by an acute myocardial infarction, aggravated by coronary artery disease and complications from Parkinson’s disease , a condition the artist had suffered from for years. It also mentions autonomic dysfunction, a common consequence of advanced cases of this neurodegenerative disease.
It was his daughter, Aimée Osbourne, who formally presented the certificate . In a statement, the family expressed their deep sorrow: “It is with indescribable sadness that we report the passing of our beloved Ozzy Osbourne this morning. He was with his family, surrounded by much love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
The news has shaken not only his fans but also the international artistic community. Throughout his career, Osbourne left an indelible mark both as a solo artist and as the vocalist of Black Sabbath, the pioneering heavy metal band . His stage presence, unmistakable voice, and irreverent attitude made him a living legend of the genre.
In fact, his last concert took place just weeks before his death . It was in Birmingham, his hometown, during an event symbolically titled Back to the Beginning , which served as Black Sabbath’s final farewell to the stage.
